A city dweller like me will often want to take a break from the noise, hustle and bustle of the daily city life. A break obviously means a short road trip, or staycation, or a couple of days well spent amidst the mountains in the lap of Mother Nature.
Recently I had a great opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Jim Corbett National Park and more of its pure and fresh surroundings.
A visit to this wild national park can be the most memorable one only when you get the right place to stay at and the right guidance and services that allow you to enjoy the beauty of mountains and forest range.
We did the right decision of choosing to stay at Corbett The Baagh Resort & Spa.
What this Resort believes in and what they make the jungle visitors like us to believe in is something different. Jungle or wildlife tourism is not just safaris and spotting tiger, it is much more beyond animal and bird spotting. It is all about experiencing, feeling, absorbing, sensing and soaking oneself in the natural wildness of the forest. With these inspiring thoughts in them, they offer special activities to their guests who will get to enjoy the experience of being with the jungle and sensing its vibes.
Corbett The Baagh Resort & Spa property is located in the heart of the remote village Patkot, which is at the edge of the dense reserve forest of Sitabani. Since the village is nestled on the foothills of Shivalik range, the resort has abundant natural resources and surrounded by breath taking mountain views and the beauty if tall Sal trees.
There are about 44 accommodating rooms in this property that are charged differently under 3 categories – Premium rooms, Superior Double rooms and The Leopard Suites.
The rooms include all basic amenities and facilities to make you feel at home. Most rooms have balcony with that offers spectacular view of the locale.
On arrival, every guest is provided refreshments and is taken on a trip around the resort. The exploring begins right from within the resort.
Food is of course a part of any trip. Along with good accommodation and living facilities, they have a restaurant and a coffee shop for serving food and beverages to their patrons. Their multi cuisine restaurant, Nivala serves buffet meals.
The resort can provide expert guides or rangers who can show you the surrounding forests or landscapes and guide you through short nearby treks. They will show you species of flora and fauna which you might have never seen so far.
There are opportunities which will allow you to interact with the local villagers and get to hear about their forest and wild life encounter experiences.
The resort also arranges for interesting sessions of farming or orchard. The practice of organic farming by the farmers in their small patch of land is a real bliss to witness.
Although, there are several recreational facilities and centres within the property like spa therapies, steam bath, sauna bath, indoor and outdoor games facilities, their special activities of exploring the surrounding landscapes and forest are to be made the most of use.
Their policy and concept of ‘Go Beyond, Go Local’ will make sure that you look for the experience beyond spotting tiger or the pug marks. This is where you will look forward to re-visit Jim Corbett again with the team of The Baagh Resort & Spa.
